International Conference 2027

Uncertain Futures in Southeast Asia and Beyond: Sustainability for Environment and Society

29 June – 02 July 2027, Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam

The Southeast Asian Geography Association (SEAGA), established in 1990, is a leading regional network connecting geographers, environmentalists, scholars, and practitioners across academia, government, and industry. SEAGA conferences provide an important platform for interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration on sustainability, socio-economic transformation, environmental management, and regional development in Southeast Asia.

In 2027, the SEAGA Conference will be held jointly with the International Conference on Environment, Resources and Earth Sciences (ICERES), organized by the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources (FENR) and the Faculty of Geology and Petroleum Engineering (FGPE) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. This partnership will strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers, educators, policymakers, and practitioners in geography, environmental science, earth sciences, climate change, and sustainable development. The conference will also connect with UNESCO's Land Subsidence International Initiative (LaSII), focusing on groundwater management, land subsidence, delta sustainability, and climate resilience.

Under the theme "Uncertain Futures in Southeast Asia and Beyond: Sustainability for Environment and Society," SEAGA 2027 invites multidisciplinary contributions to address pressing environmental and societal challenges, supporting evidence-based solutions for a more sustainable and resilient future.
